Each year, the Barracuda participate in a league-wide Hockey is for Everyone night, which encourages LGBT diversity and acceptance at every level of hockey. To keep the celebration rolling, the Battery Pack passed out hundreds of Pride flags and stickers to the fans in attendance (both members and new friends). President Carlos also unveiled a new rainbow-colored commemorative cheer card, which made a second appearance in August at the 2023 Silicon Valley Pride Parade.

SJBP had the privilege of marching in this summer's Pride parade alongside the San Jose Sharks and Barracuda--including players Brandon Coe and Ethan Cardwell. Of course, Sharkie and Frenzy made appearances, too! Several SJBP board leaders and community members walked the streets of Downtown San Jose with flags, signs, and rainbows of all kinds. We handed out prizes like pins and bracelets, but the highlight of the experience was connecting with hockey fans at every step of the parade route.

Events like the Silicon Valley Pride parade are so much fun to be a part of, but it's also important to us to help hockey fans of all backgrounds feel welcome in The Reef. After all, hockey is for everyone!
