On October 22, 2023, San Jose's new Tech CU Arena officially opened its doors for the 2022-2023 hockey season. After a few anticipatory events for Barracuda season ticket holders, the time had finally come to see our fan community's new home. 

Much of the nearly sold-out crowd (4,015 out of 4,200 tickets sold) enjoyed a free pre-game block party in front of the newly-minted arena. This event included games, face painting, and a Teal Carpet, where many Cuda players made their season debut and signed autographs for fans. Best of all, hockey friends and family were finally reunited after a long summer apart.

The Barracuda set the scene during the Home Opener with a 4-0 victory against the rivaled Henderson Silver Knights, and the Battery Pack handed out the first of 31 Win Pins to its members. To commemorate the team's--and the supporter club's-- first game in the new arena, the SJBP President, Carlos, also gave away souvenir cheer cards featuring our favorite mascot, Frenzy. Both the Win Pins and cheer cards became fan-favorite collectibles all season long, and they will be making their return for the Battery Pack's second year cheering on the Cuda.
